In 1962, Stanley Kubrick created the psychological-comedy film that would be endlessly debated, critiqued, acclaimed: Lolita. Played by Sue Lyons, her character has a penchant for striking eyewear – red heart-shaped frames in her youth and thick, squared-out black frames in her mothering years. We like to think of our Lolita as a symbol for this progression of gracefully aging out of the fog of youth and the wisdom, nostalgia, and inner peace that comes from time.
